We focus on education, prevention, and minimally invasive dental solutions to ensure your child’s smile remains healthy, from the first baby tooth to the last adult molar.
During their regular six-month appointment, your child will experience a gentle and thorough cleaning to help prevent cavities and promote overall oral health.
When necessary, we use composite fillings with a tooth-colored resin to fill in cavities. As a result, fillings blend in naturally.
A coating can be professionally applied to prevent cavities by sealing the chewing surfaces.
If your child experiences trauma or has pain, please call us! We offer same-day visits for emergencies. We are also available 24/7 for our patients of record.
When a tooth has decay, disease, trauma, or may impede normal oral development, we remove the tooth.
When space is left behind prematurely by a lost baby tooth, we utilize a customized space maintainer to ensure your child’s permanent teeth have adequate room to create a healthy smile.
We use a laser to create normal tongue function allowing a baby to latch and breastfeed efficiently. Proper function also promotes normal speech development, makes it possible for a child to self-cleanse the mouth during eating, allows adequate swallowing patterns, and provides for proper growth and development.
White crowns made of zirconia provide children a healthy, aesthetically pleasing, and metal-free alternative to traditional stainless-steel crowns. Zirconia is a biocompatible material that is extremely durable and was developed for use in pediatric patients.
Also known as "laughing gas", nitrous oxide can be administered safely to help facilitate treatment for the mildly anxious child.
If your child requires extensive treatment, or cannot tolerate treatment with nitrous oxide, we partner with a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist to provide deeper sedation to make your child comfortable. This is all done in the comfort of our office.
For those patients that cannot tolerate treatment in the office and are medically complex, Dr. Mike is on staff at Westchester Medical Center and can treat them in the operating room.
Dr. Mike has significant expertise treating children with special needs. We work at your child’s pace to keep them in an environment that allows them to feel safe and tolerate treatment. It’s our pleasure to provide interventions such as:
•
Desensitization visits
•
Sedation options
•
One-on-one care
There are no age limits for our special needs patients. If your child has special needs and started their care with us at a young age, we will continue to see them for routine care into adulthood.
